Kópavogur (Hamraborg / Digranes)
Central Kópavogur, built up rapidly from the mid-20th century, blends directly into Reykjavík with no clear border between the two — Hamraborg's shops and the Digranes hillside are the local landmarks here.
📍 toward the east of Kópavogur (Hamraborg / Digranes).
Hamraborg has a decent cluster of everyday shops and cafés if you need a stop between city routes.

Sky Lagoon is a modern geothermal spa on the Kársnes shoreline in Kópavogur, built into the coastal rocks. Its infinity-edge pool looks straight out over the North Atlantic, so soaking in the warm water feels like drifting toward the horizon. There are saunas, a cold plunge and a bar within the facility.
Nauthólsvík is a small sheltered bay in Reykjavík where warm water makes sea swimming surprisingly comfortable. A sandy beach, a lagoon enclosed by a sea wall and several hot tubs make it a lively spot on sunny days. The setting, with Reykjavík University and Öskjuhlíð hill behind, is green and peaceful.
Plan two to three hours if you want to see the exhibits as well as the observation deck. Booking tickets in advance is wise in summer. Afterwards, the woodland trails on Öskjuhlíð hill are great for a short walk, and Nauthólsvík geothermal beach is just a few minutes away. In winter, wear warm layers for the ice cave.
