Laugardalur
This stop serves Laugardalur, the geothermal valley that gave Reykjavík its name — historically where the city's laundry was washed in hot springs, now a park-and-recreation district with the national football stadium and the city's biggest pool.
📍 right in the heart of Laugardalur.
Laugardalslaug is the largest pool in Reykjavík, with more slides and a bigger hot-pot area than the smaller neighbourhood pools.

Höfði is a graceful white wooden house on a grassy rise by the sea, close to the coastal path in Reykjavík. It looks modest, but this small building sits at a pivotal moment in modern history, and the setting of shoreline, lawns and the bay beyond makes it a pleasant stop.
The name means "valley of the hot springs", because natural hot water bubbled out of the ground here. Reykjavík's women once carried their laundry to the springs to wash it, and the site was an important part of daily life until the early 20th century. Today the valley is the city's main sports and leisure district.
Take the ferry from the harbour or from Skarfabakki pier, and check the timetable before you go, since services vary by season. Bring a picnic and sturdy shoes; there's a café in the old house on the island. The Imagine Peace Tower, a column of light, is lit on particular dates, including 9 October and the winter solstice.
